Biography

Theresa Stack is an Assistant Professor for Montana Tech of the U of MT in the Safety Health and Industrial Hygiene Department. She is a Certified Professional Ergonomics and Certified Safety Professional with over seventeen years of professional hands-on experience in occupational safety, health, and ergonomics. From 99-2011 Theresa was responsible for project management of up to 25 interventions a year with a 2 Million dollar a year budget to abate safety and health mishaps for the Navy's Mishap Prevention and Hazard Abatement Program. She has thirteen years’ experience as an occupational safety and health educator for the Department of the Navy, Montana Tech, the U of ID and Post U. In 1995, Ms. Stack received a full-tuition NIOSH training grant which lead to a MS degree in Occ and Env Health from the U of WA in Seattle. She also holds a BS degree from the U of CT in Renewable Natural Resources. Theresa has a solid industrial safety and ergonomic background, as well as extensive field experience in hazard identification, analysis and loss control. Being the Sr Occupational Ergonomist for Navy’s Mishap Prevention and Hazard Abatement Program is somewhat unique position; for her, it has been technically challenging and professionally fulfilling and she continues to consult for the Navy and provide expert witness support to private and federal institutions. Ms. Stack is currently a doctoral student at U of MT.
