This online course is a brief review of Concrete and Masonry Construction Regulations as posted under Subpart Q, Part 1926, from OSHA's Safety and Health Regulations for Construction. The course covers:

  • Requirements for precast concrete

Course Objectives
At the conclusion of this course the student will be familiar with Subpart Q, Part 1926 of OSHA’s Safety and Health Regulations for Construction- Concrete and Masonry Construction. They will become more knowledgeable in requirements for:
  • Describe the scope, application, and definitions of the OSHA regulations regarding concrete and masonry construction.
  • List the OSHA general requirements and requirements for equipment and tools.
  • Explain the OSHA requirements for cast-in-place, formwork, and precast concrete.
  •  Illustrate the OSHA requirements of lift-slab operations and masonry construction.

David Chitester is a licensed P.E. in Michigan and Florida has over 35 years of experience. He graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1974. He also has an M.B.A that he received from Northern Michigan University in 1978. 
 
David Chitester began his career with Bechtel Power and Blount Brothers where he gained field construction experience on projects ranging from $150 million to $500 million. For more than 30 years, he has provided services essential to a balanced mix of public and private sector clients. Mr. Chitester's expertise has been applied to multi-million dollar hotels and resorts, industrial process plants, power generating facilities, office and commercial buildings. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and his background includes a number of years on active construction sites.
