This 2-hour interactive online course presents the basic mathematical skills required in a variety of construction trades. This includes the basic arithmetic and geometry required to accurately perform routine tasks and estimate simple quantities. The student will learn how to work with stationing for linear projects, as well as use arithmetic to calculate simple areas and volumes. This course also touches on using geometry to calculate more complex volumes.

This course includes a multiple choice quiz at the end.

At the conclusion of this course, the student will be able to:
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals.
  • Convert between fractions and decimals.
  • Work with stationing for linear projects.
  • Use arithmetic to calculate simple areas and volumes.
  • Calculate the area of a triangle.
  • Calculate the sides of a right triangle.
  • Calculate the area of a circle.
  • Use geometry to calculate more complex volumes.
