Have you ever chased down an alarm only to find out the problem was with a probe, meter, or sensor? Have you ever reacted to a faulty reading and introduced a problem, and then had to deal with the consequences? False alarms, faulty readings, and misguided reactions (and their consequences) can often be avoided if instruments are calibrated properly at the needed intervals. You should always consider calibration when troubleshooting a high, low, or otherwise unusual process value. This course discusses the importance and benefits of regular instrument calibrations, including the risks and costs of not doing them.
